Manchester United Ready To Win EPL
English Premier League, Misc March 15th, 2008Despite some hiccups along the way, Alex Ferguson’s team looks ready to win the English Premier League. Arsenal continues to falter and suffer defeat after defeat with the occasional draw sandwiched in between, and do not seem to have recovered from the horrifying injury suffered by Eduardo. With their main rival so far in a desperate state, Manchester United are now looking anxiously over their shoulders at the scrappy Chelsea side who seem to have quietly snuck up behind the two rivals who were too busy exchanging blows to notice Avram Grant’s players chipping away at the deficit.
In truth, it has been the Gunners’ lead that both the Red Devils and Chelsea were chipping away. If Manchester United suffer an unexpected loss of form in the run in to the final games of the season, do not be surprised if the likes of Frank Lampard and John Terry once again lift the English Premier League trophy up high over their heads instead of Ronaldo and Rooney celebrating another title in their young careers. However, to achieve that, Chelsea needs Manchester United to throw points away, and that looks highly unlikely with the searing form that the Portuguese wonder Ronaldo is enjoying. He has continued to score goals and looks ready to smash all records, including ultimately that of Dennis Law’s. With players across Europe tiring after a long season, it might not be that tough a task for the speedy Ronaldo to take advantage and score a few more goals and overtaking that mark.
So will it be Manchester United or Chelsea that will lift the EPL? Looking at the form of both teams, the more likely club to win it would be Manchester United. However, soccer is incredibly unpredictable in each season’s latter stages. If Ferguson plays his cards right, we should see an expected ending. However, if something unexpected happens from now till the end of the season, Avram Grant might actually prove his critics wrong and emulate Jose Mourinho in Chelsea’s colors.
